About Catherine Kochman Newton, M.A., LMFT

If you are hoping to make lasting changes in your life and your relationships, I want to help you get there. I believe strongly in helping clients tap into their existing strengths to move forward productively in their lives. My style of therapy combines attending to emotional experiences with a practical, skills-based focus and we will work together at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I know that sitting down with a therapist for the first time can be a scary and difficult process, but I work hard to make sure that our time together feels like a conversation between human beings who are walking side by side in the process of change and improvement. Above all, my goal is to make clients feel safe and to provide an understanding and non-judgmental environment. I invite you to reach out if you are seeking positive, lasting growth in your life.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado and Texas. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California in Communication and a minor in Consumer Behavior. I have a Master of Arts degree from Regis University in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I am currently an affiliate professor in the Counseling and Family Therapy program at Regis University. I spent the first year of my clinical practice working exclusively with veterans and active duty individuals and couples. I am currently pursuing my AASECT Sex Therapist Certification through the Sexual Health Alliance, and I have additional training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT). I recently moved from Denver, Colorado to Austin, Texas with my husband and our rescue dog, Piper.
